Over the years, scientists were studying the link of arthritis to certain types of diets. As people natural question is what is the best arthritis diet that will help them cope up with the arthritis.
Generally, the symptoms of arthritis and the level of pain changes everyday for patients living with arthritis. In their test diets, researchers have divided people in two groups. The first group in the test diet was asked to eat the foods that are under studied while the second group was asked to eat foods that do not have the foods in the first group.
In order to have a fair results, the participants were not informed which of the foods are being studied. The two groups under the test diets have closely followed their diets for a several weeks while they continue to take their medications all throughout the period of study.
Researches have measured all the changes that were observed in the two groups. The swelling and other symptoms were observed to identify which group had exhibited better results in the tested diet.
The study is being done in three to four months to determine which treatments are effective. There are still other researches to be made and observation needed in order to determine the actual results of the studies.
Since there are no specific arthritis diet as of the moment, the only advisable type of diet for people with arthritis is a eating a well balanced diet.
Well balanced diet is important in reducing the symptoms of arthritis because studies show that being overweight can worsen arthritis pain.
Aside from arthritis, obesity is also related to other illnesses such as diabetes and heart problems. Obese people are said to have 6-7 year shortened life expectancy compared to other people who are eating well balanced diet and have a normal weight.
Statistics shows that the risk of baby boomers to be obese and developed arthritis have rise rapidly over the years.
The obese related arthritis had risen from as low as three percent in 1971; it had risen to eighteen percent in 2002. In 1971, the risk of arthritis from merely twenty percent had jump to sixty percent in 2002.
The normal weight adults who have arthritis experienced problems in mobility but for obese adults with arthritis faced more problems in their movements as the joints find it harder to carry their weight.
Researchers recommend eating well balanced diet to help not just lower the weight but to control also flare up of arthritis pain. A well balanced meal is advisable also not just to avoid arthritis but other medical health problems that go with obesity.
