Arthritis Nutrition
Scientist has launched several studies to determine the role of nutrition to arthritis. Accordingly, there are over one hundred types of arthritis and each form may require special nutrition needs. Generally, the bestarthritis nutrition for patients living with the symptoms of arthritis should include the following:
Vitamin A is an antioxidant and it is good in decreasing the damages done to the cells and tissues due to arthritis.
Vitamin C acts as healthy collagen, the primary protein needed by the body for bones and cartilage
Vitamin B complex is needed for production of energy of the body. This is also good for healthy nerves and tissues.
Vitamin D is responsible for maintaining bone health.
Vitamin K is responsible for bone building
Vitamin E acts as anti oxidant and it is responsible to ensure healthy immune system
Zinc is important for arthritis as it acts as anti inflammatory
Calcium is needed to protect the bones and for over all bone health. Calcium is much better if it works with vitamin D.
In taking multivitamins, patients should be wary of those supplements, which claim to offer promises that are not proven by health officials. You have to ask first your doctor which type of supplements you have to take.
It is important that before taking any supplements, make sure that the products were recognized by health officials because some companies tend to put other nutrients, which they claim, are good for the bones and joints but there are really no scientific proof to make their claims for real.
You also have to see the labels to see if the supplements that you are taking do not contain trace minerals that are required by health officials because taking more than what is allowed might affect not just your bones and muscles but you are over all health.
Do not also take vitamins and supplements more than what the doctor prescribed to you. Overdose of vitamins and supplements can be harmful to anyone.
In addition, before buying or taking vitamins and supplements, make sure that you have checked the expiration date. Do not take any vitamins and supplements beyond their expiration date.
