Arthritis Remedies
There are more than one hundred forms of arthritis and each may type has its own signs and symptoms. Each symptom may require different treatment and remedies but the most common arthritis remedies are the following:
Arthritis is not ignited with cold weather, as people had previously believed that arthritis is caused by the cold climate. Accordingly, arthritis is cause by damage in the joints and the weather is not to blame however, studies show that patients who take a warm shower find it more comfortable and relief to their arthritis.
2. Cold or warm compress
Putting a cold or warm compress to the affected limb is also proving to be helpful to adults living with arthritis.
Some people find more relief when they only use cold compress while some people find it more relaxing when they put warm compress over the affected joints. There are also some people who use both, alternately to the affected area.
For best relief, you may ask your physical therapist what kind of compress is appropriate for your condition.
3. Stretching exercises
Stretching exercises are needed by the body to help your joints and muscles to move around. Though it is most common for patients to just sit around when they feel arthritis pain, this is not good for the body as this might further damage the bones and muscles.
In order to avoid more damage and pain to your joints, you have to do stretching exercises regularly.
Stretching exercises will avoid your bones from being brittle and it helps your bones to be stronger.
However, do not overdo stretching exercises as it might hurt your muscles and joints.
4. Rest the affected limbs
Arthritis pain may also signal that you are working hard beyond the capacity of your body. When arthritis pain flares up you have to slow down a bit and rest the affected limbs.
Normally, patients feel the tired or malaise when they have arthritis pain, if you feel this, you have to rest for a while and if possible do not use the affected limbs.
5. Physical therapy
Physical therapy is also known to be effective in arthritis. Physical therapy is good for the bones and joints. It improves your over all mobility and reduces the arthritis pain.
Just make sure that you only get the services of licensed physical therapists, as they only the licensed therapists are the ones who are aware in dealing with arthritis. Do not take services of physical therapist if they are not licensed as their work might only hurt further your joints.
6. Supplements
There are supplements that are offered in drugstores today, some people said that arthritis supplements are good for them however, there are really no scientific proof to back up their claims.
Do not take any supplements without first asking your doctor because it might impair further your health.
