2. Physical Therapy - physical therapy is part of non drug treatment for patientsĀ ThisĀ
treatment is good for the muscles and the joints to reduce the level of pain. Not all treatment plan of physical therapy is suited for all patients. Normally, treatment plan is made for a specific patient in order to address the patient needs.
3. Warm or Cold compress - warm and cold compress is usually done to give temporary relief on the swelling on the joints. Some physician require both warm and cold compress while there are some who only recommend use of either warm or cold compress.
4. Stretching Exercises - stretching exercise are given to patients. This is one treatment that patients do not normally follow as many think that it may hurt them more but studies shows that inactivity really worsens the condition of arthritis that is why it is recommended that stretching exercise are part of treatment plan
5. Dealing with Stress effectively - arthritis is due to the damages that happen in the joints and the inflammation is usually part of the arthritis. This is a chronic disease and can come and go anytime. Arthritis is commonly triggered by different factors but one factor is stress.
Arthritis flares up anytime because of stress that is why your doctor will advise you to deal with your stress effectively to reduce the chances flare up.
